Slow Cooking Thursday

Slow Cooker Beef Stew

This is our favorite Slow Cooker Recipe.

2lbs Beef stew meat
5lbs potatoes, cut in chunks (we prefer red)
Onions
Carrots
Celery
2tsp salt
1 packet Lipton Onion soup mix


Mix all ingredients in 4 or 6 quart slow cooker. Cover and cook at setting #3 (low) for 7 to 9 hours or at setting #5 (high) for 3 to 4 hours until meat and vegetables are tender. (Stir stew several times throughout cooking time.)

Of course use what vegetables you like. We are a bit on the picky side. Some short cuts we use is we buy frozen Stew vegatables from Kroger & then just add more potatoes & onions.

When my husband starts cooking the beef, he coats it in flour also which adds a bit of thickness to it. Enjoy!
