Meap testing ~ Test taking tips

It is MEAP testing for my 5th grader. So far, she is not liking it. I heard that today's test was 1 hour & 45 minutes. The kids couldn't ask any questions, talk at all & had to sit in their seats the entire time no matter what. No wonder they hate it, ugh! I told her not to worry, I don't care how she does on it whatsover as long as she tries her best. I feel bad for the kids when even teachers are complaining about how hard it is to sit there for that long not being able to help or speak, etc. I wish they would eliminate these silly tests, maybe the kids would actually learn more?!? Anyways, here are ...

Some test taking tips:

  • Get a good nights sleep
  • Eat breakfast (our school is actually providing free breakfast every day of testing so that is a nice bonus)
  • Make sure your name is on the test
  • Read the directions carefully
  • Go with your gut, your first choice is usually correct
  • If you do not know an answer & it is multiple choice try eliminating what you know is wrong
  • Try your hardest & don't stress

Good luck to anyone out there taking MEAP's!
