Beat the Heat, Wash in Cold, and Win an Eco-Friendly Home Office

NoBloPoMo - Day 5

Ready for the fifth C3 action? Pledge today to "Beat the Heat, Wash in Cold" and pass the word along. Do so and you could win a $1500 eco-friendly home office or one of 27 other great prizes.

Take the pledge at http://c3.newdream.org

(yes, even if you took other C3 pledges, you need to take this pledge to be eligible for November's prizes)

Did you know that simply by pushing the "cold/cold" button for four out of every five loads of laundry you can cut 72 pounds of CO2 emissions this month alone? Keep it up for a year and you’ll save more than $60 in energy costs too!

We have been washing in the cold water cycle for at least a year now. The clothes still come out fine, so I do everything but towels & linens in cold now. Really has saved on the energy bills. I also hang dry a lot of clothes, so I try to full loads of hang dry to avoid using the dryer.

Hope you take the pledge :)

On a parting note, a quote:

Of course, like every other man of intelligence and education I do believe in organic evolution. It surprises me that at this late date such questions should be raised.

- Woodrow Wilson, 1922
