Even worse, not only did he deny urgently needed medical care to children in low-income families, President Bush vetoed a measure to extend the Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) for up to six months for families of wounded military personnel. This was a recommendation made by the President's own Commission.
This veto is callous and indefensible! We need your help to encourage our political leaders to keep fighting the good fight.
Over the coming weeks, Congress needs to muster the votes and political courage to override this veto - and the debate will be especially critical in the House of Representatives.
National partnership for women & families urges you to contact your Representative and encourage them to stand up to the President and stand for America’s children…and families of wounded soldiers.
I just sent a letter to my Representative urging them to stand with American's children and stand up to President Bush.
Take action today. Tell Congress to override President Bush's veto on the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).
I urge you to take action today before it's too late!

My little darling lost her very first tooth on Tuesday! It became very wiggly over the weekend, and she really wanted to lose it in school. I kept hoping she'd come home on Monday with it gone, but she didn't. I was starting to get scared because it was SO lose. She ended up coming home on Tuesday with it gone! She lost it right after getting to school, she said she pushed it back & all of a sudden it was on her tongue, lol. The kids love losing them in school because they get a sticker & a treasure box from the office. Cute how little things like a special trip to the office makes their days isn't it? She had been getting so bummed because most of her friends started losing teeth in kindergarten. Now if we just start losing her upper teeth. She cracked her upper tooth when she was 9 months old. Then got cavities in her top her two teeth. The dentist tried fixing them, but the fillings kept falling out. He said to just leave it & wait for them to fall out. Well we just switched dentists in August & he said no way, that is totally wrong! She is going to a children's dentist next week, she might need to be put to sleep & have almost the entire top section of her mouth worked on. I was hoping she'd lose them on her own, but she might be getting a head start. If that happens, the tooth fairy will need to come up with lots of loot for those special teeth, lol.
In the picture you can see, the missing bottom tooth & it looks like a matching missing tooth. That is from her cracking it as a baby.
If you do not have good credit, there are options for you, bad credit personal loan.
Taken directly from website ~
"Typically, to be eligible for a personal loan, consumers have to satisfy these criteria:
- Borrower must be at least 18 years old
- Borrower must have an active bank account at least 30 days old
- Borrower must be employed with a minimum recurring monthly income of $1,000
- Borrower must show one form of identification
- Borrower must show proof of residency (optional)
- Borrower must be a citizen of the U.S. (optional) "
A payday lender might be right for you, it is an option to keep in mind for those unexpected expenses that come up in our lives. They are not something to rely on for paying your bills though. You don't want to get caught up in a bad cycle of always borrowing and trying to stay afloat of finances charges, etc. They are a great option though for the emergencies that come up when you just don't have the funds available. Hopefully you will never need a service like that, but hey life is full of unexpected things!

ANIMAL OF THE MONTH: WOLVES
People love the friendliness and loyalty of their dogs. Every single dog in the world is descended from wolves that were tamed in the Middle East about 12,000 years ago. In those ancient times, wolves probably became dependent on the scraps left by wandering bands of human hunters. People soon realized that wolves could lead them to prey and warn them whenever danger was near.
How they hunt.
When a wolf pack hunts, its members work together as a team. Together they can bring down large animals that a single wolf could not bring down alone. To protect themselves, they prefer to attack prey that has been weakened by sickness, or is bogged down in heavy snow.
What they eat.
Where wolves are concerned, the larger the prey, the better. A wolf's first choice in a meal would be a moose, elk, deer, or mountain goat. When larger prey is scarce, they will attack beavers, rabbits, and squirrels.
Where do they live?
Wolves are very adaptable animals. They are found in grasslands, forests, swamps, and the frozen areas of the far north. A few even live in the desert. Their range includes North America, Europe, and Asia.
Yellow light. During the last 300 years, hunters and farmers and others have killed millions of wolves. Until recently, except in Alaska, there were very few wolves left in the United States. Today wolves are being reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park, which is part of their former range.

50 Cent has at last emerged victorious in his chart battle with Kanye West - his Curtis CD is Europe’s number one album. West's album Graduation beat rap rival 50 Cent's Curtis to the top of the charts in the U.S. and U.K. when they were both released on 11th of September. However, Curtis has proved more popular than Graduation in Europe, where West’s album only managed to debut at three.

- Do you love autumn? Why or why not? Yes I love the fall. It is beautiful out, I love the leaves changing & the fall colors. I like that it isn't so hot, but it isn't cold yet. I can wear my favorite outfit, jeans & a t-shirt & be comfortable :)
- What do you look forward to most during this season? Going to the Cider mill & Halloween.
- Do you have any photographs from the beautiful colour changes outside? If so, please post. Nothing current, I haven't been able to get any good pics the last few years. I couldn't even find any good pics on my computer from older years. I did find a cute pic from a corn maze at the cider mill back in 2005. Now I am determined to get some good pics this year!
How can it really be October already? Did you accomplish everything you intended to this summer? And lastly, is your Christmas shopping done?
I cannot believe it is October, this year FLEW by! I didn't really accomplish much this summer but that was my intention, lol. My only regret is not being able to go to the beach like we usually do, but I will make up for it next summer! As for Christmas shopping, nope not done. I did start though, just a little :)
How do you eat your M&M’s? I usually just eat them. I will sometimes grab certain colors. With M & M's I'm not too picky because they all taste the same. Other candies like skittles, etc I do eat in a certain order :)
I love tv, but I never buy shows on dvd. Too expensive I guess. I'm determined to own my first two listed though :)
1. CHARMED ( I have been dying to own this )
2. Star Trek Next Generation
5. Big Brother ( I don't think it exists, but I'd love all the seasons on dvd)
6. Tru Calling
7. Quantum Leap
8. Crossing Jordan
9. CSI - Las Vegas
If you registered in the contest, they are giving away free shipping until November 1st :)

I was going to start my fall reading challenge with Season of the Witch that I also wanted to read for the RIP II Challenge. I couldn't get into Season of the Witch (I'm currently reading it now though), so I read The Quickie by James Patterson. I had been waiting for awhile for this book & I ended up getting the large print about 2 weeks ago. I was still like 150 in line for the regular print, so I knew I had to get it back before my due date next week.
It was a very good book. I have to tell you, I was actually stressed reading. It just took turn after turn & I couldn't wait for it to be over just to get some relief for Lauren the poor main character, lol. It was such a good book though.
Lauren Stillwell is not your average damsel in distress. When the NYPD cop discovers her husband leaving a hotel with another woman, she decides to beat him at his own game. But her revenge goes dangerously awry, and she finds her world spiraling into a hell that becomes more terrifying by the hour. In a further twist of fate, Lauren must take on a job that threatens everything she stands for. Now, she's paralyzed by a deadly secret that could tear her life apart. With her job and marriage on the line, Lauren's desire for retribution becomes a lethal inferno as she fights to save her livelihood--and her life. Patterson takes us on a twisting roller-coaster ride of thrills in his most gripping novel yet. This story of love, lust and dangerous secrets will have readers' hearts pounding to the very last page.
I'm terrible at reviews, but if you like mysteries, suspense or Patterson this is a great book. I normally do not like books about cheating & didn't even read the book description before getting this book. I think I got an email from Patterson & realized this was not an already started series, so hurried & requested it. I'm behind on reading him & he writes so much whenever I get an email that is about a new character I hurry & get it, to keep from falling more behind. I also didn't realize that Lauren was a cop, so that was a huge shocker in the way the book started off. I highly recommend this book!

Today is my girls 10th birthday. I cannot believe I am the mommy of a 10 year old, oh my.
My grandma took us out to eat at Buca's, Aly's favorite restaurant. We had a lot of fun! I didn't do a party for her because she is going to a huge Dance Convention given by Tremaine at the Hyatt & it is pretty costly. I really wanted to do something great for her big 1-0 bday but I think this convention in November will be a lot of fun & such a great opportunity. I always have 13 & 16th to make up for it :)
The other day I realized now that she is 10, I am almost 30. UGH, I am so dreading it, less then 5 months away :( I am having a hard time dealing, even though I know I shouldn't be, lol.
