Book Review - Frill Kill

I recently finished Frill Kill: A Scrapbooking Mystery (Scrapbooking Mysteries) by Laura Childs. I have enjoyed this series since the first book Keepsake Crimes. If you scrapbook & you read you have to read these fun books. The books are about Carmela, who owns a Scrapbook shop. Her best friend Ava runs a Voodoo shop near by. The books takes place in New Orleans & they are really fun to read. It is a Cozy Mystery series. I believe this is the 6th book in the series, so I don't really want to give away what happened. I highly recommend starting from book 1 to get the full feel of the characters, etc. At the end of each book are some scrapbook tips & usually some cool New Orleans recipes.

I really enjoy the way that Laura Childs writes about the different scrapbooking things going on in the store & the mysteries that Carmella is trying to help solve. They are really well written in a fun mystery sort of way.

Scrapbooking Mystery Series: Keepsake Crimes, Photo Finished, Bound for Murder (Set of 3 Mystery Novels).

Spock is looking for you

I know there are a lot of search engines out there, but Spock is very innovating. They are a free search engine that helps you find people. You can search by name or even tags. The tags are created by the person and other Spock members. For example, I typed in Atheist and pulled up pages of people tagged that way.

One thing I did want to read about is the Presidential candidate in 2008. This is a great way to find all about the candidates, useful information, news, etc to stay informed.

This is a great way to find those old classmates you lost touch with, real estate agents in your area, yoga instructor, doctor, dentist, etc. The list is endless. The more people that join and contribute the better Spock with be. It is very easy to join. Just enter a few details, check your email & click on the link. Then you can add as much or as little to your name that you wanted.

Spock does have some social features, but they are not a social networking site. When doing searches, you can type in anything. For example if I was looking for a Home Improvements in MI, I just type in home improvement, MI & bingo I have my search results. I can also do a general search like blue eyes. I just can't get over the possibilities of this search engine.

Library

NoBloPoMo - Day 1

Yesterday was the kids school parade. So I leave early because I wanted to get a parking spot. I bring my book to read & then a book to return to the library. I decide to take the book back first. I return my book, drop off a bunch of paper to be recycled & then head over to the school. Get an awesome parking spot because most parents weren't bothering looking & just parking on the main road & pull out my book to read. What do you know it is the book I just finished, UGH! I call the library & they already returned my stinkin book & won't give it back to me. When I got home I requested it again, hopefully it comes quicker this time.

I cannot believe I did that, well I can but still. Of course my kids flipped that I also lost a bookmark, lol. I think it was just a cheap one from the library, I hope at least!

I was reading What is a Ghoul to do by Victoria Laurie & I just finished Frill Kill by Laura Childs. I guess it is time to read some of the non-fiction I checked out or some of my mags that are piling up.

Tackle it Tuesday ~ Attic

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Since getting items from storage, I figured we needed more room. This weekend we worked on putting better boards down in the attic & have been cleaning it out. Today I plan on getting some items from the basement & putting them into the attic. Right now all my ebay stuff is in the living room & I really need to get the items that are listed or about to be listed outta here. With Christmas coming, I really don't want a storefront in our living room, lol. That is about it & it will probably take me most of the week since the girls have dance & Halloween still this week.

Plus I'm trying to squeeze in entering all those great contests :)

Manic Monday Trick or Treat

Can you believe Halloween is this Wednesday? I am so not ready for all the crazy holiday seasons to start. My girls are very excited & we are hoping for a rain free Michigan Halloween this year!

I remember when I as was little, it seemed to always rain on Halloween when we went Trick or Treating. Last year was pretty cold, but luckily no rain. I do have to remember to pull out the gloves though before we go out Trick or treating this year! Below is a picture of my girls costumes this year. Aly is a Genie & Cam is going to be Hannah Montanna. She originally was going to be just a pop star but our friend lent us a blond wig. I wasn't going to bother since she already has long blond hair, but she want to wear it. Plus she doesn't have bangs. Now to find some clothes to put under these skimpy little costumes.

What do you prefer Trick or Treat? Visit Manic Monday for my posts on the topic.
