WFMW: Saving Money on Zoo Memberships

We are lucky enough to live about half hour - 45 minutes from the Detroit Zoo. Since we are on a major budget, what I do is a buy a Zoo Membership around end of July - beginning of August the first year. Then we try to go a few time in August & maybe even September & October. Then we go again when it starts warming up in April, May & then June & July. Then I let the membership expire until the following August. That way my one year membership, lasts 2 years.

It has worked great for us & the kids get to enjoy the zoo each year. Now if you have the money to afford the membership year round, I say go for it. It helps the animals & they deserve it. If you struggle with money though, doing it this way works out wonderfully.

Bring a picnic lunch to save even more money!

Ok. Wait... Where do you live? We moved, last year, from Livingston County... We lived in Howell actually.
We had a D-zoo membership for a year, but then we went to the toledo zoo (just as far for us) and it was SO MUCH BETTER...
