Review ~ Gloves in a Bottle {Skin Care}

I was sent an 8 oz bottle of Gloves in a Bottle recently to test out. I was extremely excited to give it a try because I have terribly dry skin, and from what I read it sounded wonderful.

Unlike artificial moisturizers, Gloves In A Bottle is a shielding lotion that bonds with the outermost layer of skin cells to turn it into what works like an invisible pair of gloves.

These "invisible gloves" prevent dry skin by helping to keep moisture-robbing irritants out while better retaining your skin's own natural moisture, resulting in skin that is far better hydrated, over the long term, than what can ever be achieved by conventional lotions.

Gloves In A Bottle keeps the outer layer of skin functioning so well so it can breathe and perspire naturally. Because Gloves In A Bottle becomes part of the outer layer of skin itself, it doesn't wash off like conventional lotions. It comes off naturally with exfoliating skin cells. For continued protection, just reapply every 4 to 12 hours.

Sounds good, doesn't it? I can say that it honestly does work. I have been using it for at least a month now & my hands are very soft & smooth.

One thing that I really like about Gloves in a Bottle is that one 8 oz bottle really lasts. You only need a very small amount. If I use a dime sized amount, I can evenly spread it on my hands and arms up to my elbows. A couple times, I accidentally squeezed out about a nickel sized amount & was able to use the left over on my legs! It is a very light moisturizer, but not runny. It instantly took away any kind of itchy or tightness that my skin felt.

I have been keeping it by my bathroom sink & reapplying it every 4 to 12 hours like the website recommends. On days when I have had to wash my hands several times, the lotion really lasts.

I highly recommend this lotion if you have any kind of skin conditions. The website has some fantastic resources. One 8 oz bottle is only $12.95. They offer free shipping on orders of 4 bottles or more. They also offer larger quantities. This is a must in any doctor office, hospital, day care, etc that washes hands frequently. You can also find deals for Gloves in a Bottle from Amazon and even eBay.

Tomorrow is a day of rest! + Upcoming stuff

A message to all members of Blog 365

Tomorrow is your chance to put down the keyboard and act like a normal human being for a day.

Feb. 29th is the official Blog365 day of rest!

Now that blogging is such a habit, can you go a full day without doing it?

Rest up now, we still have a lot of year left ya know.

And no blogging about not blogging either! That's still blogging!

I'm excited for the break! Watch for my review of Gloves in a Bottle when I come back!
(Love it!)

Saturday is Aly's dress rehearsal for her first competition! Things are totally crazy. We are having major costume issues, like Aly's is still not in! Our back up is a dress some girls were last year, so we have temporarily borrowed one from a girl who has a costume. What irritates me is that now, they might not be in until after the 2nd competition. Well then she only has 1 more to do. Do I really want an expensive costume for 1 competition??? Ugh, frustrating. Plus the owner & one of the teachers ordered these hideous wigs for the girls to wear. They are dancing to Barbie Girl & they think they would look cute with synthetic hair! The girls that tried them on, looked like bad drag queens, it was horrible. The group Aly is in, has these ones that look like old fashioned telephone operators, so bad. I will try & get a pic Saturday. Should be loads of fun! I'm trying to remember why I signed up for all this stress, especially with the insane costs. Oh yeah, my darling daughter begged me to let her. Why do I have to love the brat so much? LOL

I really don't understand how those pageant moms do it. This is driving me crazy & from what I have seen of pageants, this is nothing.

Sock & Glove Book & freebie pattern

I was watching Martha Stewart the other day. I barely ever watch it to be honest. I'm so glad I kept it on though, she featured the cutest book Sock and Glove Creating Charming Softy Friends from Cast-Off Socks and Gloves. Now I am not good at sewing, but these little cuties look so easy! The woman from Penguin that translated the book to English, showed us how to make a rabbit & a dog. Martha had an elephant, that I want to make so bad. I have to get this book! The rabbit will be cute for Easter. All you need is a pair of gloves, they can match or not. They used work gloves on the show, but any gloves would work.

You can get the patterns on Martha Stewart's website.

Doctor Update & Review: Peace Love Mom thermal

On Thursday I had my appointment to find my biopsy results. I had a hard time getting myself ready. I kept finding other things to do, basically stalling. My appointment was at 11:45 & I literally walked in the door at 11:45. That is only because it was an easy drive there with no traffic which has been unusual.

I basically have been going the entire week expecting the worst, that I did have thyroid cancer. Figured it would be easier to handle. I know that it is one of the best you can have with high cure rates. When the doctor didn't call to change my appointment sooner, I started thinking maybe I would be ok. I was getting myself all geared up to fight with the doctors about waiting till summer since I needed to be there for my kids school & dance.

When I got there, they thankfully didn't make me wait to long. There have been times where I have waited an hour in the room for the doctor. I hate that! I'd rather be in the waiting room with other people, then those tiny little doctor rooms. Anyways, he came in & my test was negative. I was like Oh really it was. Total shock! I do have to go on a low dose of Synthroid to see if that will stop the nodule from growing. My blood work comes out normal & my nuclear scans usually come out either high range normal or low range of hyperthryoid. Hopefully the med works because my nodule has slowly grown at every 6 month ultrasound I have taken since January 2005 (when we found it).

I decided to wear my Lucky Mom thermal shirt to my appointment. Wanted all the luck I could get & since I won my Lucky Mom shirt figured it would be a good luck charm. Plus it is super comfortable, unbelievably soft! Mine is a size Medium & I love that it fits true to size. It also a bit longer, so you don't get it riding up while wearing it. Being a mom, you need comfort. You don't just get comfort though, you get a cute top too. The color is really nice as well. I have already gotten a lot of compliments whenever I wear it. My kids think it is funny that is says Lucky Mom, lol.

The customer service is wonderful as well. Every email I sent, was immediately responded too. Very friendly!

If you have a second, go check out Peace Love Mom. They have a really cute selection of tanks, thermals & tees. If you own one, snap a picture of yourself & email it to them. They will send you a tank top for free! Offer ends March 17th or whenever supplies run out.

Sunday Salon ~ Review last 2 weeks

I think I forgot to post last week. Let's see, I finished Dead Witch Walking. I really liked it & can't read to the next book in the series. Then I read T is for Trespass. I felt like I was waiting FOREVER to get that book from the library. Back in 2006, I read the entire series A is for Alibi through S is for Suspense. Which I finished on new years eve because I was determined to read everything in that year, lol. Then in 2007, I finally got around to reading the Stephanie Plum series, so it was nice to get back to Sue Grafton!

Then I read Kiss the Girls. I picked that up with T. It was a quick read. I was going to finally get to the 2nd Kim Harrison book, but I found Midnight Club by Patterson & decided to read that. I was hoping to start up Jack & Jill which is the 3rd book in the Cross series, but waiting on the library.

I'm liking it so far, but it isn't as quick of a read as I thought. Patterson says it is one of his favorites, hopefully it will be one of my mine as well. I've read a few chapter today which isn't much since his chapters are like 2 pages, lol. I'm hoping to get more read tonight. I'm getting anxious for the next Kim Harrison book at this point :)
