Zoom Album ~ Review & Giveaway

I love to scrapbook, however since blogging - I hardly find the time anymore. I love when I come across a product that is like scrapbooking, but super quick & easy to do!

Through the Family Review Network, I was sent a ZoomAlbum to review.
ZoomAlbums are small, portable photo albums with a professional look that you can make at home. The ZoomAlbum is a 3” by 3” mini hardcover photo book kit that holds 12 glossy photos. You can print a professional looking album at home within minutes and all you need is digital photos, a computer and an inkjet printer. (Please note, the Zoom Album will not print properly on HP All In One Printers)

When you get the kit, it comes with software to help you in designing your album, special glossy paper that allows you to print out all your pictures on one sheet of paper, an album cover that can be designed using my own photo and custom design templates with easy to follow instructions. The hardest part is going through all of your family photos to design your brag book. Since I am the Mom of 2 Dancers, I made 2 dance brag books, one for each girl :) Then, it’s as simple as printing your photos on the special paper, folding the paper according to the directions written on it and sticking the photos in the book. You can watch a video of how simple the process is on their website.

Another cool things, ZoomAlbum recently launched a Photobook Coach program which lets stay-at-home moms make additional income from home through ZoomAlbum. Basically all you have to do is tell a friend about ZoomAlbum and show them how simple it is to create. Then help them order their own kit using your Coach ID. They get a 15% discount on their purchase and you get 30% in sales commission within 30 days. You can check out their website for what you get in your kit and pricing.

There are so many possibilities with these kits ~ family reunions, birthdays, baby first's, through babies first year, dance, sports, for grandparents/aunts/uncles, etc

Great news ~ ZoomAlbum would like to offer one winner a ZoomAlbum kit.

To enter, please visit the ZoomAlbum website and then come back here and leave a comment telling me how you would use your ZoomAlbum.

For Extra entries:

A winner will be chosen at random on March 18, 2009 at 11:59pm.

Winner is Donna

Review ~ Little Windows

I've always loved photos. I remember begging my parents for a camera and getting my first yellow Le Clic disk camera in 4th grade. In high school I took photography classes, then when I had my first daughter I started scrapbooking.

When I came across Little Windows photo jewelry, I instantly fell in love. Little Windows takes your special memories and showcases them in crystal-clear resin. There are no frames, just the brilliant color from your pix reflecting up and around the sides.

Lightweight and waterproof, Little Windows are made with quality sterling. Perfectly thoughtful gifts! You can choose to have them make your personalized piece of jewelry or purchase a kit to do it yourself. Little Windows offers tons of options from single pendant necklace, multi-photo necklace, bracelets and more.

I was sent the Make your own kit which allows you to make 3 necklaces. All you need are some digital photos you love and a color printer. The kit includes everything you need to create three 1-1/8" square Little Windows Necklaces, and some other great projects with the left-overs. There is also a FREE Little Windows Square Shape photo cropping software. It is a web application, which you access online.

The kits are very user friendly. Anybody can do this, trust me!

Little Windows also offers a Tell a Friend program. Every time a person you've referred spends $25 or more in the Little Windows online store, they will send you a message that you've got $10.00 in Win-Dough$$ to spend at little-windows.com.

That is pretty cool isn't it! Feel free to use my name Ginny Brewster if you order anything :) I'd love to buy some more photo jewelry from Little Windows.

Makes a great present, Mother's Day is coming up! They also have a blog with some cute ideas on it.

Review ~ Big Bang Mini for Nintendo DS

I posted about Big Bang Mini for Nintendo DS back in January. Since then, I have received the game and have had a ton of fun playing it on the Nintendo DS.

Use your firework arsenal to blast your way through this arcade style shooter!

This fast-paced shoot 'em up puts a new spin on classic arcade style gameplay allowing you to blast down hordes of imaginative enemies with explosive fireworks launched at the flick of your wrist. Maneuver your ship through the enemy fire and falling debris as you collect stars from vanquished foes to advance towards big boss battles. A number of special powers will be made available as you move from one exotic locale to the next where one wrong move or one missed shot could be your last.

  • Main game mode offers up 9 fantastic worlds with 9 levels each ending with intense boss battles and bonus challenges
  • Post your top scores on the worldwide leaderboard using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection
  • 5 game modes including Arcade, Challenge, Relax, Mission and Versus play
  • Exceptional art, sound, and gameplay design keeps the game fresh as you advance
In Big Bang Mini, your main objective is to use the stylus to create fireworks and destroy the waves of enemies that loom overhead. Miss and you'll be forced to tackle another challenge, avoiding the sparks created by your falling fireworks. Celebrate the completion of a level by designing the Final Bouquet, a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that will proclaim your victory.

When you first start the game, you go through a tutorial. This tutorial helps explain the game. Then you get to start on the real fun. Blowing up the enemies with fireworks. This game gets pretty addictive. There are several levels and in each level, there are 10 sub levels. I found myself saying, Ok just one more level ...

Another great thing about the game is the hand eye coordination you need. You use the stylus to shoot fireworks, but you also have to avoid them falling back down on you by moving your figure. If you aren't careful, you can accidentally move your character while shooting fireworks.

I really enjoyed this game and for under 20 bucks you can't beat the price! My tween played it and she had a lot of fun. She keeps asking to borrow the game from me.

New Penny Auction Site

Have you heard about this crazy new auction site? It just launched a week ago and is already quickly becoming a favorite. The site is called Bid Ray Penny Auction.

The concept is pretty cool ~

Bidding starts at .01 with NO RESERVE!

Each bid placed only raises the price by one penny.

There is a timer on each auction, after each bid it goes up a little bit to give another bidder a chance to bid.

Since bidding is only in penny increments, there is a fee for each bid placed. Hurry and register now though, you can get 5 free bids ~ I did!

The bargains are crazy, check out the sold auctions that have already ended. I found $100 Best buy gift card for only .54, HP laptop for $4.35 & an Xbox for under $15!

This is the type of site you want to get in good with before everyone knows about them. That is when you get the best deals.

Oh and they also offer 100% free shipping and donate a large portion of the revenue to a charity of the auction winners choice. Pretty cool huh.

What do you think of this auction site? Have you joined & tried bidding yet?

I Don't Want to Miss ~ PSA contest ~ Flu Prevention

Could you imagine, being a teen ... Getting the Flu ... Missing your sweet 16 party, Your Homecoming, Your Prom, The Big Football game?

No teen wants to miss out on all of the fun, especially if they are stuck at home, sick with the flu. Not to mention missing school, falling behind in classes, missing important tests, etc. That's why singer/songwriter and former American Idol finalist Brooke White has teamed up with infectious disease specialist and author of Germ Proof Your Kids, Dr. Harley Rotbart, and The Clorox Company to launch I Don't Want to Miss..., a national contest that puts teens in the spotlight to talk about flu education and prevention.

The heart of the program is a PSA contest in which teens can submit a short 45-60 second video entry to IDontWantToMiss.com, sharing what they most don't want to miss out on and why that makes flu prevention important. What a fun, creative challenge for our teens and their friends!

For the first time this year, the CDC expanded flu vaccination guidelines to include all children six months through 18 years old. However, a new national survey shows that only 16% of parents with teens are aware of this new recommendation.

The winning contestant will win an acoustic concert from former American Idol finalist Brooke White at his/her school! The second place winner will receive a guitar autographed by Brooke White herself, and three runners-up will win autographed photos.

Did you ever miss any big events in high school from being sick? Luckily for me, I was pretty healthy during the high school years. I did miss my wedding though from pneumonia the year after I graduated.

I need a new Bathroom Vanity

Our sink broke in our downstairs bathroom. Only the hot water works, the cold knob is broken. Ever try brushing your teeth with only hot water? Not fun! On the good side though, I am conserving more water then ever when I brush my teeth downstairs, lol.

Part of why we are hesitating on fixing the faucet is because we really need to update the entire Bathroom Vanity. Our house is around 24 years old and the bathroom vanity is original (plain, boring, ugly, you get the idea).

This is our half bath, so I have to stick with a single sink vanity. I'm really thinking I want to go with one of the modern bathroom vanities . I love the look of the tempered glass sink with a chrome faucet. Of course, I'd also love to upgrade our upstairs master bathroom with a double sink vanity. We had a double sink bathroom in one of our apartments; it was such a nice feature to have. When you have a majority house of girls, you need nice bathrooms!

What about you, what kind of bathrooms do you like? Traditional or Modern? One sink or two?

Johnson's 50th Anniversary

When you have a baby, Johnson's becomes a staple in your home. Right from babies first bath, the iconic yellow bottle of JOHNSON'S® HEAD-TO-TOE® Baby Wash with NO MORE TEARS® becomes a staple in many homes.

I know every time I see that yellow bottle, I remember giving my girls there baths. Especially my first, she was 6 weeks early, weighing in at 5lbs3oz. She came home from the hospital a little under 5lbs. She was so tiny, plus being only 19 I was so afraid to give her that first bath. Armed with some comfy towels, baby washcloth, baby towel and Jonhson's head to toe baby wash I was all set to go. Poor thing cried so hard, she was bright red, lol.

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the JOHNSON'S® NO MORE TEARS® trademark. Can you believe this product has been around for 50 years already? To help celebrate its 50th Anniversary, JOHNSON'S® introduces two new products to their line ~ JOHNSON'S® HEAD-TO-TOE® Foaming Wash and JOHNSON'S® Baby Bubble Bath & Wash.

I was asked to review the products and blog about them on behalf of Mom Central and Johnson’s. I loved the new foaming head-to-toe wash. It is so easy to use with the pump & since it is foaming you don't have to deal with trying to get some suds going. The bubble bath of course is great as well. Cami loves using it in the tub and I love the way she smells when she gets out. Since she is my baby at age 7, it is nice to go back in time using this product!

Be sure to check out Johnson's Baby Channel on Youtube. Where expert advice meets new ideas from moms like you. You can view helpful parenting videos or upload your own.

What are your memories of Johnson's Baby products? Did your mom use it for you, did you use it with your babies?

Musings Mondays

When reading do you read every word? Do you ever skip chapters or skim over parts? (question curtesy of Wendy)

Normally I read every word. I also never skip ahead, sometimes I don't read the entire back cover because it gives to much away.

The only time that I skim in books is when I'm reading a book with a lot of romance scenes. I just don't care much for graphic scenes. I do enjoy some stories that contain them like Eve Duncan series by JD Robb & the series by Laural K Hamilton about the fairy.
