Review ~ La Vita All Natural Crunchy Cookies

I was given the chance to try a brand new healthy cookie recently through Mom Fuse. I was sent the Raspberry/Lemon Crunchy Cookie by La Vita Health Foods, ltd to try out.

La Vita All Natural Crunchy Cookies introduces healthy snacking with
their new delicious line of cookies.

La Vita Health Foods, a leader in the healthy gourmet snack
food sector, announces the launch of their All Natural Crunchy Cookies
at NASFT.

La Vita has revolutionized cookies to create a new line of
delicious diabetic friendly, gluten and sugar-free, low fat, low
glycemic, cholesterol free, dairy-free, prebiotic, Vegan and Kosher
Certified cookies that are also a good source of fiber.

As soon as I got my package in the mail, I instantly opened up these cookies. I'm not a huge fan of raspberry, but I do love lemon. The cookies have a very subtle flavor and I really liked them a lot. I might have to start trying more raspberry items! What I liked the best though was the crunch. These cookies are literally very crunchy. To me, it seems like a unique crunch, very very good. I really liked them a lot. The one thing though is they seemed to have a funny after taste. The only thing to compare to is a sugar substitute, so I'd like to look more into that.

I highly recommend these cookies for everyone, but especially ~ people on diets, diabetics, gluten free diet, vegan diet, kosher diet, etc. They are a great alternative cookie! La Vita crunchy cookies come in a great variety as well ~

Naturally Flavored: Almond, Chocolate, Chocolate Chip, Poppy
Seed, Raspberry Lemon, Peanut Butter, Strawberry and Cajun

Ladies this is a Must Have ~ Tassi

My mom actually alerted me to this awesome product. She said she had to have one, so I got her a Tassi for Christmas.

Luckily for Me, I was sent the gorgeous Turquoise Tassi to try out for myself. So, What is Tassi? Well it is basically a terry cloth headband to hold your hair out of your face.

However, it is not your standard cheap headband you are used to. No way, for one this is super soft and comfortable. The back of the Tassi is larger then front, so it easily holds all of your hair. Tassi is so much better then those standard headbands or using a towel to wrap your hair.

I use the Tassi for washing my face, applying make-up, etc Anything that I need my bangs and the rest of my hair off my face. Plus, no matter how long I keep it on for, my hair never gets that dreaded headband indentation!

The Tassi comes on 12 great colors including white, soft pink, hot pink, chocolate brown, lavender, powder blue, lime green, tan, tangerine, turquoise, chili pepper red and black. My tween wants the lime green one!

The Tassi retails for $14.99 and is well worth the low investment. These are great for all women and teens. If you wash your face or wear make-up this is one of those must haves!

You can purchase the Tassi online at their shop. They even offer a 30 day money back guarantee. You can also purchase it at select retail locations.

Current by Discover Card Teen Debit Card

Growing up, I was never really taught about money. My mom was the kind of mom that could not say no. Within reason, if I wanted something I got it. When I hit middle school, I would only wear name brand clothes, my mom actually took out a loan from the house to buy my clothes at Hudson's. She did similar things for my brother with his ever changing fads, etc. I started working at 16 at a clothing store in the mall. I mall was not the place to work when you love clothes and do not know how manage money let me tell you. I did start buying my own clothes, but I also started opening credit card accounts at 17. I did pretty good on my own for awhile, but since I was never taught about saving, when I lost my job at 18 due to the store closing I had no way to pay all my bills. That started my downward spiral into bad credit.

I've made it a goal of mine, not to let that happen with my girls. I openly talk to them about money. When we don't have it, we don't have it and they know. I of course don't go into detail, etc, but they do know our situations over the years. My mom totally disagrees with me on this one, I guess we will see how my girls turn out financially.

With the economic crisis, hitting extra hard in Michigan money gets pretty tight for us. When Mom Central emailed me about Discovers new card, I happily agreed to tell my readers about it.

To help us balance the desire of our kids with the balance in our checking accounts, Discover Card came up with a truly innovative debit card called Current by Discover Card, designed especially for kids ages 13 to 18. The Current Card helps us teach our kids born in a digital age how to manage spending. Like car companies that allow you to set the maximum speed limit on your teen's car, Current by Discover Card puts moms in control by letting you set (daily, weekly, monthly) spending limits, block certain merchant categories (like ATMs and liquor stores) and track your teen's spending online or through email and text message alerts. Plus, because it's a debit card product, the card stops working when the limit is reached without incurring any additional fees, which protects your teens from overspending. { I love this feature because normal bank debit cards usually allow you to go negative and then charge tons of fees }

Current features include:

  • Helpful Account Management Features: Parents can set spending limits, restrict merchant categories and track their teen’s spending through online statements, e-mail and text message alerts. They also enjoy the convenience of free, flexible loading options. Teens also can load their paychecks onto the card through direct deposit.

  • Advanced Security Features: Current is protected by Discover’s $0 fraud liability, which means cardmembers are never responsible for unauthorized charges – online, offline, anytime, anywhere. Current cards that are lost or stolen will be temporarily suspended or deactivated, and cardmembers will be eligible for an emergency replacement.

  • Financial Education Resources: Teens can learn how to spend smarter by logging onto the Account Center at CurrentbyDiscover.com. There they can view helpful articles on topics such as basic financial concepts, protecting yourself from identify theft, starting a savings program, and making your money go further.

In addition, Current by Discover Card also is sponsoring a financial literacy program across high schools nationwide through its Money Smarts Program, designed to help educate high school juniors and seniors on basic money management skills. The Money Smarts Program covers the basic concepts of financial literacy and correlates with national academic standards set fourth by the National Endowment for Financial Education.

  • Meaningful Rewards: Teens are eligible for members-only in-store coupons and online discounts when they use their card at select restaurants, movie theaters and teen-friendly merchants. What’s more, parents earn Discover Cashback Bonus or Miles when they load their teen’s Current Card using their Discover Card.

  • Low Pricing: Cardmembers pay a $5 monthly charge for each card, or save $10 by paying an annual fee of $50. Fees include four free ATM withdrawals per card per month.

I feel it is important to teach our kids about money, budgeting, spending wisely, etc. Not just about those things though ~ we have to face facts, it is a digital age. Kids need to also learn how to use checking accounts, debit and credit cards. Most schools do not teach these important life lessons. It is up to us as parents to teach these skills.

Turbo Charge your Car

My husbands hobby is cars. He loves working on cars, fixing them up, super charging them, adding hydraulics, lowering, etc.

He even lowered my car which I wasn't super thrilled with, lol.

He's starting to get into turbo charging cards. A turbo can significantly boost an engine's horsepower without significantly increasing its weight, which is the huge benefit that makes turbos so popular with people.

My car couldn't handle a turbocharger, so his next project, he wants to do a Volkswagen turbocharger.

Save the Best for Last by Kim Hanks

I just finished reading the first book in a new series by Kim Hanks. It is titled Save The Best for Last.

Zwick Lamps, a secret admirer to Whitney Barnes, got targeted by a genius son of the past evil family that had lived in Green Oasis Town. However, it was once before that Zwick had finally discovered his supernatural powers that were only known by the isolated old woman Tabitha, a misfortuned lady whose husband died on their wedding day.

Save the Best for Last is a really quick read. It took me only 2 days, if I wasn't busy with my kiddos I could have easily finished it off in one afternoon. The book is an exciting 95 pages with some fascinating characters. The town of Green Oasis has an evil past. The story starts out telling us about this evil family that was killed, leaving only their one son Karl. We are introduced to Whitney right away who quickly becomes friends with the main character Zwick. Most of the characters attend the University. Whitney and Zwick become friends with Matt, Kent, Marie & Rae along with Karl. The story is about friendship, dating and supernatural. It is an interesting read. I look forward to reading the next installment of the book, with Zwick and Matt and some other friends returning.

A little about Kim Hanks. He was born in Uganda and is from Dubai. I found a great interview with Hanks over at American Chronicle if you want to find more about what motivates him to write. Also, Sign up for his newsletter here.

You can purchase Save The Best For Last over at Amazon for $8.99

Review ~ Fresh Hanger + Coupon Code!

I don't like washing my clothes after wearing them only once, especially my nicer clothes. It is better for the environment, and it is better for your clothing. With my nicer clothes, I usually only wear them a few hours anyways, not enough time to wash after each use.

Through Mom Fuse, I found a really cool product that helps eliminate odors from your clothing. It is called The FRESHhanger™. Basically it is a cover that fits virtually any hanger and eliminates odors from clothing leaving them refreshed for the next use.

What you do, just hang the fragrance-free cover on any hanger and let FRESHhanger's patent pending and laboratory tested activated carbon technology do the work!

FRESHhanger has a number of advantages:

LABORATORY PROVEN RESULTS
- independent laboratory testing has proven that FRESHhanger reduces
odor causing compounds in clothing 6X more effectively than airing out!
- activated carbon - FRESHhanger's carefully selected main ingredient
- is the most absorbent material in the world

STRONG CONSUMER APPEAL
- 80% of consumers researched expressed interest in a garment care
product that would keep clothes fresher between washing/dry cleaning
- clothes represent a major household investment
- saves money and time - important in these challenging economic times

TIMELY ENVIRONMENTAL STORY
- FRESHhanger absorbs PERC used by dry cleaners
- FRESHhanger uses 100% natural activated carbon
- using FRESHhanger saves water and electricity and also extends
clothing life by reducing the need to frequently wash clothes

My take ~ I really like the Fresh Hanger. I use a few different types of hangers & the fresh hanger fits on all the ones I use. It easily slips over the hanger, then you just slip your top over it. I have had a couple meeting lately, so I used the Fresh Hanger with those tops and it works very well. It also helps me remember which tops I've worn at least once already :) These would be great for blazer jackets and work clothes. Especially if you have a high dry cleaning bill, would save you a lot of money! You can purchase the Fresh Hanger in 5pack, 10pack or 20pack at the Fresh Hanger Website.

Special just for my readers, Take 10% off your orders by using coupon code ~

Have you ever considered plastic surgery?

I will be totally honest, I have thought about plastic surgery. I've always been thin, so I have wanted a breast augmentation since I was in high school. Since I got married at 19, it wasn't about attracting men. I wanted it for myself, to fill out clothes better, etc.

Now that I am in my early thirties, I'm not as stick thin. Now my focus is more on getting liposuction. The only area I have weight issues is my belly. I have that lovely pouch thing that us moms tend to get. I've tried exercising, eating better ~ nothing seems to get rid of it.

I'm pretty afraid of doctors though, so I have a lot of questions that could benefit from Cosmetic Surgery Help. This website is pretty cool. Right on the main page is a large box where you can ask your question about cosmetic surgery. You can also browse through other peoples questions. Plus there is a forum. Some questions, you might not even be sure you have!

Just a heads up, this is real medical site. As you ask questions, you may across real medical procedure pictures.

Have you ever considered plastic surgery? What would you get done if money was no object?
