Joined Book Swim Today

I had wona membership to Book Swim a few months ago & I finally got around to joining today. It is basically like Netflix but for books. I joined the 3 book package. It looks like they ship you out 3 books, you can return 2 of them when you are done, keep the last to read & then get more books.

I love that there are no late fees, etc. You can also search books several ways ~ Search books for rent by AUTHOR, Search books for rent by TITLE or Search Books by ISBN.

They seem to have a pretty good selection of books. Not everything I was looking for was available though. I will update after I get my first box of 3 books.

Anyone else a member?

Review ~ Mom's Best Naturals Cereal

I don't really eat cereal because I do not like milk. I will snack on cereal though, and my husband and daughters eat it. When Mom Fuse asked me to try out a new cereal from Mom's Best, I thought it sounded really good.

Mom's Best sent me two boxes ~ Oats & Honey Blend and the Honey Grahams to try out.

The first thing that caught my eye about these cereals is the company philosophy. They have been owned by the same family for 4 generations, they only make Breakfast cereal. Mom's Best also uses the highest quality ingredients. There's nothing artificial, no saturated fat or hydrogenated oils, no high fructose corn syrup, etc.

When the cereal arrived, I quickly opened it up to see just how good this all natural cereal was. I tried the Oats & Honey Blend first. It was SO good, I decided this box was just for me :) My 7 year old did end up prying a bowl from me, but that is it. I snacked on this cereal instead of eating chips, cookies, etc. Super yummy…

Review ~ Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! Pirates Treasure

I've blogged before about Wow! Wow! Wubbzy, and now I am blogging again about the newest pre-school dvd that is out ~

The newest Wubbzy DVD, Pirate Treasure, became available on March 24th. In this 82-minute DVD, 5 regular and 2 bonus episodes, including one never before seen episode, your little ones will follow Wubbzy and his friends as they discover a world of fun adventures. Familiar characters such as Wubbzy, Widget and Walden search to find buried pirate treasure and discover what happens when Wubbzy gets lost in the woods and why Walden is afraid of the beach. The DVD provides preschoolers great entertainment while still teaching them important social lessons about how to treat others.

My 7 year old will still watch shows like this, so she was excited when the dvd came in the mail. She has already watched it several times. With shows like these, you don't have to worry about sitting in the room to make sure it is appropriate.

This is a great dvd for pre-schoolers, tea…

Review ~ Exergen TemporalScanner™ infrared thermometer

I hate to admit this, but I haven't had a thermometer that works in years. The doctors get so mad when I can't give a temperature of my girls (with good reason, I know!). I keep meaning to buy one, but it just never happens.

Thankfully, Family Review Network came to my rescue with an amazing campaign for the Exergen TemporalScanner™ infrared thermometer. I was crossing my fingers, I would get picked for this one, the thermometer is amazing!

From the press release ~

The Exergen TemporalScanner™ infrared thermometer, which reads a temperature in just two seconds, is available at Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Costco, Babies R Us, Toys R Us and Sam’s Clubs nationwide.

It gives parents a comforting option for taking a temperature. Gentle as a healing hand against a child’s face, the Exergen TemporalScanner gauges body temperature in two seconds by capturing the naturally emitted heat from skin over the temporal artery, which runs across the forehead and is directly connected to the …

Making Life Better

Being a mom can be difficult. For me, one of the hardest things is dinner. I personally do not care for cooking, so coming up with great recipes for my girls can be a challenge.

Unilever, the consumer package goods company, has spent a great deal of time thinking about how to make everyday life better and help us find ways to create great meals and do more with less. The company's Web site,, features delicious recipes, affordable meal ideas and tips that stretch your budget and save you time. From Chicken Francese to Savory Roasted Potatoes, the secret to dinner success in my home is to keep a well-stocked kitchen filled with easy-to-prepare, delicious pantry staples with brands I know and trust.

Browsing around the site recently, I found a ton of great recipes for our Easter dinner. We are for sure making the Country-style Glazed Ham, my youngest absolutely loves ham. I think she will really enjoy this recipe and the prep is only 10 minutes!

The search…

Veggie Adventures ~ Eat your Veggies

Have you seen the cute commercials from Hidden Valley Ranch, encouraging kids to eat more veggies? I know one has the veggies in an ice cream truck instead of ice cream, love that one.

Well they are trying to get the word out for kids to eat their veggies. Now Hidden Valley Ranch has teamed up with Mom Central to get the word out about a new game they have created for kids.
