I finished The Little Stranger about a week ago, and now it's time to start the second read along for the RIP Challenge, The Graveyard Book. I picked up my audio copy from the library and will start it tomorrow in the car. I'm excited, I've been wanting to read this book for a long time now. I adore Coraline, so I think I will enjoy this as well.
Now for The Little Stranger, I will say I enjoyed the book. It isn't something I'd typically read, but I enjoyed House on Haunted Hill and thought they would be similar. It was a very slow build up book, but it wasn't slow reading if that makes any sense, lol. I had mixed feelings over Dr. Faraday. At some points I liked him, others I didn't get a good feeling for him. I don't want to give any spoilers, the book was pretty good. Had me thinking, I enjoy books like that. Sarah Waters is a great writer. I'm not big on historical pieces, but I enjoyed getting the feel of post WWII in Britain. I wouldn't say the book is scary in way at all though, I'm still a bit surprised when I read reviews that mention it being scary.
As I write this, I'm watching 666 Park Avenue, talk about a fitting show for this time of year. Super creepy, highly recommend! I hope this is a show that lasts, now we just need American Horror to start up.
