Back to School Food Week

One of the frustrations with back to school always seems to be food.

Whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner, there are always struggles. What will the kids eat for breakfast, what can I make in the least amount of time that is also healthy.

The dreaded school lunch ~ healthy, easy, tastes good ...

Dinner ~ Everyone is so busy during the school year, between school, after school activities plus family obligations ... Dinner gets to be a major struggle.

This week we will be reviewing some great products that involve food, so stay tuned :)

Slacker Radio ~ Back to School Giveaway

When listening to the radio, do you ever get tired of hearing the same few popular songs over & over? Do you ever wish you could create your own station, with songs YOU want to hear all the time? Well I have a found just the radio station for you ~ it is called Slacker ...

Slacker ( is a free Internet radio service allowing users to create their own customized music stations. Slacker offers many traditional genre, specialty and artist stations pre-made by professional DJs like "Today's Hits", "80's, 90's and Today", "Country", etc. while also letting users build entire stations of specific artists just by typing in their name.

With the free account, you get a limited number of skips. You are allowed 6 skips per hour per station. You also get some ads, which to me isn't a big deal since you do on the regular radio.

Slacker Radio Plus is the upgraded subscription service and for $3.99/mo, listeners have unlimited song skipping, access to song lyrics, unlimited song requests and no audio or banner ads. Slacker has 4x the music library as the leading competition and is available via the web, BlackBerrys, iPhones, Sony BRAVIA TVs, etc. You can also get the complete song lyrics with the plus plan if you want to sing along.

Signing up is super easy! Once you are signed up, you can either listen to a pre-made station or create your own. Creating your own is SO easy. I listen to Rap with Eminem being my all time favorite. I entered Eminem in the search and got an entire station of his songs plus all related music. Slacker did an amazing job of finding similar music including a bunch of Detroit rappers that you never hear on regular stations. If you don't like what they come up, with you can customize the station. I had the options of "hearting" all the Eminem songs I love plus similar artists I want to hear more of. I'm very impressed! If I get tired of listening to my customized station, I can easily click over to the hip-hop station & get even more music.

If Rap & Hip-Hop aren't your thing, don't worry ~ Slacker offers everything. I noticed a country station, smooth jazz, street scene, alternative, rock, classic rock, top hits, electric/dance and tons more.

Accidentally on Purpose ~ New Fall TV Show

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - OCTOBER 29: Actress Jenna...Image by Getty Images via Daylife

CBS is my favorite tv station. They have such great shows like Big Brother (amazing season by the way, you must watch this show!), CSI, Ghost Whisper, Two and a Half Men, Big Bang Theory, Mentalist and many more shows that I watch. With the fall coming up, that means all the shows will start premiering plus we get all the new shows to look forward. I have had a chance to watch Accidentally on Purpose, The Good Wife and Medium. Now Medium isn't new, however it is new to CBS.

ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE is a comedy starring Golden Globe Award winner Jenna Elfman as Billie, a single woman who finds herself "accidentally" pregnant after a one-night stand with a much younger guy, and decides to keep the baby… and the guy.

A newspaper film critic, Billie is barely surviving a humiliating breakup with her charming boss, James (Grant Show), who's still trying to resume their relationship. Suddenly expecting a child with her "boy toy," Zack (Jon Foster), Billie and Zack make an arrangement: to live together platonically. Billie's party girl best friend Olivia (Ashley Jensen), and Abby (Lennon Parham), her conventional, younger married sister, eagerly look forward to the new addition and offer their own brands of advice and encouragement. But when Zack and his freeloading friends, including Davis (Nicolas Wright), start to turn her place into a frat house, Billie isn't sure if she's living with a boyfriend, a roommate, or if she just has another child to raise.

My thoughts on Accidentally on Purpose ~ When I first saw the commercials, I thought it looked pretty funny. It is a bit of an edgy idea for an older woman to have a boy toy and then get pregnant by him. I found the pilot very funny. I've always liked Jenna Elfman, she always comes off so carefree to me. I think this show is a perfect fit for her. I can't wait to see what happens with this new "relationship"

I think this will be a fun comedy to watch each week. It is one of those shows that makes you laugh & forget about your own problems. I really enjoyed the pilot and I'm excited for the fall season!

Watch for my reviews on The Good Wife and Medium shortly!
