Review ~ Hollywood cookie Diet

I was recently sent some boxes of the Chocolate Chip Hollywood Cookie Diet to test out.  I started out my test on Monday.  It is probably to soon to tell how well these work, but I wanted to write about what I know so far.

Basically, you eat up to 4 of these cookies throughout the day and then eat a well balanced dinner.  The idea seems to be cutting calories which is essential in weight loss along with proper exercise, etc.

From the website ~
The Hollywood Cookie Diet works by satisfying your hunger and your sweet tooth. Simply eat up to four cookies a day, replacing breakfast and lunch, and eat a sensible dinner. Eat a cookie for breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch and mid-afternoon snack. The Hollywood Cookie Diet works because it is a low calorie diet based on caloric restriction by meal replacement and portion control.

Each cookie is individually wrapped for eating on-the-go. Take a tasty meal with you to the office, on the plane, on the road, to the gym, or anywhere else you go. Each cookie is also a good source of fiber and protein.

Based on the recommended 4 cookies per day (approximately 600 calories) and a light sensible dinner (approximately 800 calories), the average person who was consuming 3000 calories (or more) per day will lose approximately 15 pounds per month. Of course every individual is unique and results will vary based on many factors. An increase in exercise will help to increase weight loss.

This may be the last diet you will ever need. Use The Hollywood Cookie Diet for as long as you want until you achieve your weight loss goals. You can also use the The Hollywood Cookie Diet as a maintenance program. Always keep a cookie in your car, in your office, or anywhere you get hungry, so you can enjoy a satisfying treat and not gain weight.
My take ~ It seems like a great idea.  I actually have a big sweet tooth, so I love the idea of eating the cookie bars.  I've only tried the chocolate chip, but they are tasty.  I'm doing the cookie diet along with exercising on my new Wii Fit Plus.  I haven't checked my weight again yet though.  I only do that alone and my kids have been home sick.  I've never been a good eater, so I'm actually worried that I'm eating more calories then needed.  I've never counted calories before, so I'm still working out the details in my head.  For anyone that has dieted and has counted calories, then this will be easy for you to figure out.

Another thing I like about this diet, is you can actually work it around other diets.  It isn't suggested obviously because they want you to buy the Hollywood cookie, but I think you could substitute some of the cookies for another equal calorie amount item.  Then you will still get the sweets, but stretch out your cookies.  The boxes are a bit on the high end ~ they retail for $19.99 for 12 cookies.  You can get a great deal though by purchasing 5 boxes and getting 2 free + free shipping.  It comes out to $99.95 shipped to the lower 48 states which is a pretty good deal for the diet.

I would recommend this diet, but I suggest looking into it first.  Make sure it fits what you are looking for.  If you have that sweet tooth though, dieting can be hard.  This makes it a bit easier.  Just make sure to work in exercising along with it and watch your calories.  If you stop the diet and increase your calories, then you are probably going to add on weight.

If you are looking into changing your lifestyle though and need a bit of a boost ~ The Hollywood Cookie Diet is a great way to get things going.

The cookies come in Chocolate Chip, Lemon (sounds really good to me!) & Oatmeal.

Disclosure ~ I was sent the Chocolate Chip Cookies to test out.  The review was optional for me to do.  All opinions are mine.  You should consult a doctor before dieting or exercising.  Thank you.

.FedEx ~ Cheaper Shipping Options + Fun new blog!

LOS ANGELES, CA - JUNE 09: A FedEx delivery t...Image by Getty Images via Daylife
I've been selling online since 1999, so I have a lot of experience with the US Postal Office and UPS.   Even though I have been in business awhile, I'm still pretty small time compared to other companies.  I always thought that FedEx was way out of my league.

Thanks to Mom Central though, I have learned a lot about FedEx and how they are not out of my league!   I learned that when you sign-up on, you can save up to 16% on FedEx Express services and 8% on FedEx Ground and Home Delivery.  Also, by actually visiting a FedEx Office location, shipping with FedEx Ground costs 10% less than with UPS.   I think that is pretty incredible!  It is nice to have options, especially with the post office continually raising prices.

While you are visiting FedEx Office, there is more to do there then just ship your packages.   They also offers customized holiday cards, stationery and personalized 2010 calendars in just minutes either online or in-store. With FedEx Office Print Online services, you can print holiday newsletters and cards to a nearby center of your choice or have them delivered to your friends and family hassle-free.  I know the one near me also has an Express Photo machine and copy services as well.

Another exciting thing from FedEx is their new blog ~ Out of the Box.   The first day I visited, I immediately subscribed in bloglines.  I love it!   They offer party ideas, gift ideas, business hints, organizational ideas, even tips on meeting goals and new year resolutions.   With just over 20 posts right now, it is already an informative blog.  I'm looking forward to reading Out of the Box the rest of the year!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of FedEx Office. In addition, Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

No-Snow Snuggler ~ A must for your kids in the Winter!

I came across this amazing company last winter.  They have revolutionized the way we dress our little ones during the cold months.  Do you struggle getting your kids dressed for playtime outside?  Do you have a toddler that refuses to keep their mittons on?  Do you have an older child that gets snow in their mittons, come inside with red, freezing hands?

Then I have the product for you ~ The No-Snow Snuggler

This was originally introduced in toddler sizes, but luckily for me last year the company came out with the version you see above for older children (No-Snow II).  I was sent the adorable black and pink snuggler and the all black one for my kids to test out.

The No-Snow II™ was specifically designed with an older child in mind and was made to work hand in hand with your child's own traditional gloves or mittens. It features a protective arm warmer which is held in place by a fingerless glove that slips into the wearer's own snow glove or mitten.

As soon as they came in the mail (in a super cute pink fabric storage bag), the girls instantly fell in love with them.  All last winter, they wore the Snuggler under their coats.  My youngest even used her as a warm sweatshirt at school.  They both absolutely loved the thumb hole.  At times they actually got too hot and had to take it off.  It is absolutely perfect for layering while playing outside in the snow!

We got lucky with a pretty mild December this year.  The last few days though have been bitter cold.  Both girls were anxious about the cold weather at the bus stop today and asked for me to pull out their "warm sweatshirt w/ the thumb thing".  I thought it was pretty funny.  I got lucky that the sizes sent, will last 2 seasons.

The Snuggler and No-Snow II are an extremely high quality fleece zip up jacket.  The arms are extra padded for warmth as well.

For younger kids version is very unique.  I wish this was out when my girls were younger!  I am just imagining how much easier it would have been to get them zipped into snowsuits and coats.  Especially when I worked, this would have been an amazing time saver!

The No-Snow Snuggler's unique design provides protection where traditional children's mittens fail. It's worn underneath your child's coat or snowsuit and features the patented, water-resistant sleevemittens™ that protect your child's hands and wrists from the harsh winter weather.

Unlike other extended length or over the elbow mittens, the all-in-one design of the No-Snow Snuggler™ not only prevents small children from removing their mittens, it also adds an extra layer of warmth for your child. And, since it's all one piece, the No-Snow Snuggler means no more lost mittens. It's the perfect winter accessory!
If you live in an area that gets snow or even gets really cold, you really want to consider picking one of these.  You can learn more about the company here.  I love that they are a mom friendly company.  They employee moms on part time basis with flexible hours.  Amazing!  Let's support a company that also supports us moms!

You can purchase a No-Snow Snuggler and No-Snow II in their shop.  The Snuggler is only $21.99 and the older kid version is $26.99.  You can also personalize for an extra $5!
